#cairnscentral is Cairns, Queensland, Australia’s biggest irc chat channel and has being operating for more than 9 years. It started off with 4 people and has been growing steadily since.
For those wondering, #cairnscentral did not get its name from the shopping centre that opened up in Cairns, but from the suburb of Cairns. #cairnscentral is in no way affiliated with Cairns Central Shopping Centre.
#cairnscentral currently operates on the Ascends network. If you are using mIRC, the simplest way to connect to #cairnscentral is to type /server irc.cairnscentral.net in your status window, then when you’re connected, /join #cairnscentral.
